Swim on the road! You can choose between to be better at making friends or to end up alone in your room. Trust me if I say that is so easy to learn how to make new friends, especially because you are out of your country with strangers and need to get more comfortable with approaching new people.

2 – Gain confidence

When you travel around the world: Hiked Mt, Everest, Cliffs of Moher, Rome, Malaga, Paris, Scotland, America, the Great Barrier Reef, or wherever you are thinkingof going.. In a short time, you will see that you’ve done a lot of awesome things. After you can accomplish so much, and you’re going to feel a lot more confident in your ability to achieve anything.

3 – Learn to go with the flow378260_561404160560744_557612471_n

You’ve dealt with missed flights, slow buses, wrong turns, unavoidable delays, bad street food, and much, much more. You’ve learned how to adapt your plans to ever-changing situations. Always remember: don’t get mad, don’t get angry, just move on! Times flies and life throws you curve balls and you hit them out of the park.

4 – Get more adventurous

Once you have become confident in your ability to do anything, you will feel confident to do everything: skydive, jump off cliffs, bunjee jumping, jet boat, conquer your fear of heights, eat Irish Breakfast, whatever.. You got this. It’s all part of the journey and the more you put yourself into uncomfortable situations, the less uncomfortable they become!

When you don’t know the local language of the place, non-verbal communication becomes even more essential to read people and situations.
You will start to be able to read body language which can tell you a lot about your surroundings and also make you avoid bad situations 😛
For example once I said “choo choo” to ask info about how to get to the train station. Travelling to places that do not speak your language helps your ability to understand body language.

6 – Travel broadens your horizons

Mary Anne Radmacher once said: “I am not the same having seen the moon shine on the other side of the world.” When you try for the first time to travel and have experience with people from other cultures, your perception of the world changes and you never want to stop learning more. You will see that even if we are from different countries and cultures, we are not so different from each other.

7 – Learn to make it anywhereThe world3

Once you have handled to travel in foreign countries or living in a new place, you can do anything. After you have moved abroad without knowing a soul and left having to establish everyday life there, you know you can repeat that process anywhere and everywhere, you have no reason to be worried about going to unknown places.

8 – Tell your friends cool stories

There will be a moment during your trip where you will need to tell someone what’s going on in your life. Egotistical or not, you’ll have a lot of amazing stories to tell your friends! Just do not be too proud of yourself, and do not bother them when you tell your stories – Tell them in a funny way!  🙂
